Author's StatementSo, the story is about the firstborn [who] was 贬腻濒辞补, but he was a stillborn.听贬腻濒辞补听is like the eternal breath. They wrapped听贬腻濒辞补听up and planted him, and 贬腻濒辞补 became the first [kalo], which is like the sustenance and, like, major food staple for our culture. And then, we [Kanaka] people, we came after that, and our firstborn fed us, provides for us, even though it was a stillborn in the land. So, talking about this deep connection of us and nature and this relationship and this familial relationship [is something] that has to be honored.
