Here are more details about the program:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Focus on argumentation and 4 other math practices\u00a0<\/li><li>2 years of PD for teachers and their math coaches (starting summer 2022)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <ul><li>5-day summer workshop for teachers and coaches\u00a0<\/li><li>Extra days for coaches only\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Teachers and coaches are paid for this PD\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Coaches and teachers use the VisTe coaching cycle during the year, at least 4 times.\u00a0<\/li><li>Teachers use specially adapted lessons from Illustrative Math, for those 4 cycles (total of 4 lessons)\u00a0<\/li><li>Video based coaching and feedback;\u00a0<ul><li>Each school gets a SWIVL for teachers to video record each of those 4 lessons (each teacher controls access to their own videos).\u00a0<\/li><li>Coach and teacher reflect on the video together using a specially designed research-based Discussion Guide.\u00a0<\/li><li>Coach\/teacher sessions are video-recorded and coaches get feedback from VisTe staff.\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Special feature: <\/strong>Visualization planning where coach helps teacher envision what may actually happen during class at a detailed level, including when students\u2019 responses may differ.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Equity focus:\u00a0\u00a0<ul><li>Discussion guide includes \u201c3 pillars of equity\u201d in teaching, derived from research\u00a0<\/li><li>Mathematical Argumentation in Middle School book, based on 10 years of research by VisTe leaders, includes special sections on \u201cAccess for All\u201d\u00a0<\/li><li>Choosing to See: A framework for educational equity. Seda and Brown.
