Professional development is comprised of Implementation Workshops that introduce teachers to the Inquiry Project curriculum and embedded assessment opportunities, and , professional development designed to help teachers lead productive science discussions.

Onsite are grade鈥搒pecific and designed for teachers new to the Inquiry Project curriculum. These workshops help teachers to become familiar with the curriculum’s goals, central concepts, investigations, and materials. Participants gain firsthand experience doing the investigations to get a feel for how students learn through inquiry. By the end of the workshop, participants have a solid grasp of the curriculum鈥檚 overarching conceptual story and core teaching strategies.

Teachers can deepen their own understanding of the science and become familiar with the ideas children might have about the science by watching the scientist video cases.
